Now, I know we all love to keep our PC's clean, but it's essential for you to keep dust out of your PC parts. Now, you're probably asking yourself why? why is it so important to clean your PC even though it has fans to push away dust etc? Well, the answer is to that is the dust particles clog up into dust clouds with if big enough slow down the performance that particular part and will also increase the heat percentage in your case. Now most of us gamer's have a black case which also attracts heat so it's also a bad sign if both combine. Today I'm going to give you a few tips on how to clean your PC and to ensure that it will last a long time and that you get the best performance out of it. Here is how. Option One: Air Compressing We should be all aware of Air compressors. They're extremely useful to get dust out of particular / small parts in your PC such as your GPU and CPU fan(s). Make sure when you use your Air compressor's that all the power to your system is shut off as they do have water in the cans which turn cold etc. So for safe marks turn off your system as I'm not responsible for any crashes if you don't comply with my suggestions. Lastly, don't think that just spraying your PC with an Air compressor is done and duster, you'll need to use a clean rag or preferably glasses wipers. Which will bring me to the next option below.. Option Two: Rags / Cloths If you're wanting to just get rid of an small amount of dust, just simply use a clean rag or even glasses wipers, they're fairly cheap and are very good collecting dust, trust me. I've use it in the past. But overall, use just something that's clean and something not very thick so it's easy to access small areas without damaging anything in your PC. We're all aware on how fragile PC parts are these days. Cleaning the inside of your PC with a rag / cloth or what ever you choose after spraying an Air compressor is also suggested. Just shooting air in your PC to get the dust out of certain areas doesn't mean it's gone. Make sure too get rid of it by going over it with a cloth or even a vacuum which gets me to yet my other option.. Option Three: Vacuum Vacuum's are another option to use to clean your PC. Now, Iv'e not yet done this but Iv'e herd it works depending on the section of your PC and the size. Using a vacuum that has a small and flat nossle to pick up all sorts of dust in small areas is key. Again, Vacuum's do suck the dust up but it does leave some behind, so yet again, clean it with a rag etc. Option Three: Taking Apart your PC Now, if you're experienced in building PC's like myself, taking some of your parts such as your RAM, GPU, CPU and other small components to clean for easier access is also very helpful, it helps if you take the part's out to get the best Air compressing, vacuuming or clothing results. I never use to take parts out of my PC in-till I saw how much dust actually clogs up there after I bought my new PC. Boy I'll never make that mistake again that's for sure! But in most dramas it should happen if you clean your PC on a basis. Just ensure you know what you're doing and that your system is shut off at the wall and you're doing it on a wooden desk / floor so no electrical currents can hit you. May sound silly, but safety is key. I hope this helps some of you guys wanting to start to clean your PC. I don't know if there is any truth to this but I have been warned about using compressed air on the cooling fans as if makes them spin faster than they were meant to. Since then I always use a small screw driver to stop the fan from spinning.
I don't find that true buddy, people use there fingers to spin them for fun when they're turned off, doesn't matter how fast they go as long as it's not turned on and interfering with it. Also, it also depends on how hard you press down on the air can
or just do what my kid did and take your laptop to the shower and give it a good wash.because she spilt some food on it.gave it me back and said its all clean now
Something useful to get is an anti-static wristband. Wrap it around your wrist, and it'll send all static to it, and there's a metal clip attached, clip it to something metal, so all the current flows out of your body. Very useful for beginners as after grounding yourself out by touching something, you can aborb static through carpet if you're wearing socks, or even if you brush up against a sofa. Anti-static wristbands are awesome! Pm me if any of you want to know where to get good ones
It's a good idea but with the PC being completely shut down and on an wooden floor will do the trick.
You'd still have the ground yourself out completely. Some people hate static shock also, which is likely to happen while grounding yourself out. It's not the actual shock that gives you the pinch though, it's the heat from the shock. Little trick for that is to take a key, like for your house, and touch that to the metal, you'll see the small electric current bolt across and you won't get that little prickly feeling
Understood, I do know what you're talking about man. I always see the PC Techies down the road use them. Also PM me for a sec
