As The Title Says, Does Anyone Know What The Update Did? I'm Downloading It Now And It's Taking A While To Finish, It Must Have Changed Something Big Right?
A system update has been released for the Xbox 360 through Xbox LIVE, one that will fix a few notable system bugs. Oh, and it's mandatory, so if you sign on today, it's likely you will be signed out and made to accept the update. But worry not, Xbox users. This isn't anything serious, and it's not even too inconvenient. According to Major Nelson, users will be able to sign back in within minutes of accepting the update. That's hardly worth getting upset about, especially considering the bugs it fixes. Fixes that the update bring include a solution for a closed-captions error in Xbox Video, one for a Xbox Music error, and one for an Xbox SmartGlass error where the wrong name was displayed when launching a playlist from the app to the console. Found this from major nelson. I wanted to let you know that the team has just released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Starting today when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments. This update will increase performance and is part of our continued effort to provide the best possible Xbox LIVE experience. In this update, we are providing a fix to a color issue that some were experiencing, and it will be immediately notable in the dashboard. The fix is also being applied by partners to their apps on Xbox LIVE, which we expect to roll out over the coming months.
Updated mine lite on 8 series and xgd3/2 still booting fine.mind u always best to flash to stock update then flash lt3 back after.
Hey, just to note I had a problem with the February 2013 update. After updating just my live profile dissapeared, all my family's was still on. A fix for this was to skip sign in go to settings - system - storage - hdd - profiles and it should say "profile name - corrupted" select it then press A then delete - delete profile only. Once it's deleted go back to home screen press the Xbox button on controller and click download profile, enter your email address and password and then wait for it to download. This should fix it it did mine, and my forza horizon save is fine, if I encounter any more problems ill post an update if any save files are corrupted but so far so good. This was a fix from Microsoft themselves after I rang them. Regards, drew
"Added new dashboard style, other security updates. Anti-Piracy 3.0, XGD 4.5 Challenge responses has been updated" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_system_software Given the timing of the update right with the GoW leak, I wouldn't be surprised if this has something to do with the xk3y and the menuISO rumors going around. On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if it was nothing. I'm waiting for a little bit, but probably going to try xk3y soon.
This update is being difficult on me, after I selected yes the first time it popped up my screen went blank and nothing happend. After about three minutes on a blank screen it popped up saying disconnected from Xbox live. So I googled the update and found this forum. I wanted to see if anyone else was having an issue, and if it was a good idea to turn my xbox off. While I was registering about 2 minutes or so I decided to just turn off my xbox. The reason I was registering was to see if I should turn off my xbox if you guys thought it would be a good or bad idea. But I just ended up doing it and now the update is downloading. It's taking awhile at least 5 minutes now. I was worried if I turned my xbox of the first time that I might screw it up if it was updating and I would have a brick of an Xbox which is actually about 6 years old now if not longer.
