I'm having this really bizarre issue. I have a dual-nand RGH, with a library of 70 games; both extracted game folders on USB drive & GOD games. Also about 10 Arcade games. Every game works perfect - that's about 68 retail games / 10 arcades. Every game EXCEPT Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. They are both ISO's extracted as folders, like almost 50 other games I have. This is what happens: Left 4 Dead - "Fatal Crash Intercepted" Left 4 Dead 2 - Xbox 360 turns Off!! I thought maybe I had bad downloads or bad rips. I got both of them all over again. I know for a fact both work perfectly fine for other people - the exact same rips I have. Same result. Exact same behavior. I don't understand what the problem is! Like I said, 68 other retail & 10 arcades work flawlessly on the system. I know both game rips work for other ppl. I just don't get why they are both not working for me. It's bizarre both are left 4 dead games! Any clues?
I'm trying to figure this out as well. I actually ripped them directly from retail disc and I get the same exact errors as you. Have you gotten it figured out yet? I haven't even got to try to mod the files as the games don't boot without modification. Strange indeed.
The .dll's might need to be unlocked, and I know L4D2 has lots of them. Download 360 Game Hack and run your L4D2 game folder though it.
I got it figured out! I actually have both the physical copies of the disc. Ripping them with FSD separates the files from where they need to be, same with XBC. What I did was loaded the .iso image in XBC and looked at the filetree. It lists the correct filetree path for all the folders and files. Make sure this matches your filetree on your 360 hdd for L4D 1. L4D2 I had to rip from the NXE dashboard, then moved it to my external from system settings and storage. It does put it into your content folder so you don't get .xex for it, but that seems fine for me as long as it stays working. So that's what I did to get both L4D games to run correctly. My problem now is finding trainers/mods that actually work for either game lol. Let me know if this helped you or if you are still having trouble getting them to load.
