had my jasper for about a year and the boot times have always been mixed.sometimes boots between 5-10 secs other times can take 10 mins or not boot at all and i have to turn console off and try again.took me about 10 attempts last night to get it to boot into fsd.is there anything practical i can do or do you think it might need looked at by someone who knows what their doing.thanks for any advice.(also if it has taken 10 mins to boot then everything runs slow xex, games).
My rgh can take about 5 minutes to boot it just varies could you tell me what chip you have and did you use a Qsb? Sent telepathically
Totally normal for a Jasper on RGH2 but your setup can be optimized a bit to lower boot times and to eliminate performance issue(slow/freeze). If you really care about boot time then send your console to an expert and ask him to change your glitch chip for a TX CR4XL.
I've perfected the boot times/installation for both phat/slim consoles, especially BB Jasper booting faster than my trinity. If your going to solve your issue your going to have to need a soldering iron at the very minimal. i use a CR3 Lite (its a cheap clone but works exceptionally well) with boot times from 5-45 secs. My guess to your install is your using a coolrunner rev.c which doesnt have the CPU Cleaner addon (very helpfull with boot times) open your xbox up (if you are afriad you might break something then youtube "how to disassemble an xbox 360 phat) you should see a chip either on top of the dvd drive or above the hdmi port. if the chip looks like this, you have a coolrunner rev c: if it looks like this: then you have the CR3 Lite, if you dont have either of these chips then youve got yourself an R-JTAG, but by the boot times you refered to then i doubt you have an R-JTAG which looks like this So determine which of the chips you have, if you have either the CR3 Lite or the R-JTAG, your in luck. You will see a black box with numbers from 1-8 (these are the DIP Switches, they effect the boot times) what you want to do is set dip switches 1-2-3-4-5 down in the off position, keep 6-7-8 in what ever position they are (dont change them) then try different combinations in 1-5 on/off
I used a qsb for an install it does take time occasionally to boot if not a qsb update topic for what you used pls.
If it's not a Qsb it could be the blue wire is to long incorrect timing on the chip via switches or programing of the chip (cr rev b,c and some others) or sloppy soldering most of the problems I have had has been one of these. Sent telepathically
Most of the time i dont use flux, as i dont install qsb's i like the good old fashion wires for me as you can always desolder them, you try desoldering and make a mistake its hard to repair, same goes for wires just alot less.
