Xbox One hasn't exactly got off to a flying start, I mean as an Xbox fan its been kind of hard to watch as Sony powered ahead with better graphics, free games, a streaming service allowing backwards compatibility to older Playstation consoles and I am sure i'm not alone when I started to think this could be the end of the Xbox franchise...

Since Phil Spencer's take over as head of all things Xbox though things are starting to turn around for the Xbox One. The first thing that made me think things are on the change for the Xbox one are the way that Microsoft intend on using the cloud to boost the Xbox One performance. The other thing is that Microsoft are looking into backwards compatibility in the form of Xbox 360 emulation.

Powerleveled.com managed to get a hold of the question and the answer for something that could help really launch the Xbox One into the eighth gen, the one thing that has been missing to make a smooth transistion for gamers from the X360 to the Xbox One and that's backwards compatibility:

Here's the question and below is the answer from Microsoft's Frank Savage:

    Q. Are there any plans for an emulator for the 360 games?

    A. There are. But we aren’t done thinking them through yet unfortunately. It turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the x86 stuff. So there’s nothing to announce, but I’d love to see it myself too.”

So it would seem cloud power really could be the thing that saves the Xbox One.
