  7. A few weeks a srory stating that Casters were worried about Infinity Ward’s support for the eSports community in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Well known caster Fwiz tweeted multiple times saying that no one in the eSports community has been contacted by IW thus far.

However, it appears that may have changed. According to a tweet from Chris Durate (ImpactParasite), whose team won the Call of Duty Championship, he’s visiting Infinity Ward tomorrow.

Just last week, Fwiz tweeted out saying any CoD Pro players in LA should talk to him cause it’ll be “worth your time.” Now, one week later, it seems that both Fwiz’s tweet and the visit to IW could be connected.

After Fwiz tweeted that, MLG CEO responded with a quick “yes it will.”

If all these tweets are connected, it may be a big reassurance that the eSports community has been wanting that IW is planning on supporting the eSports with Ghosts.

We’re expecting official Multiplayer info to come in August according to Mark Rubin.

  13. A well known Call of Duty caster, Ryan Wyatt (Fwiz), sounded off on twitter yesterday over his concerns with Ghosts and eSports support.

For Black Ops 2, hastr0 was brought on board with Treyarch and Activision to assist with the eSports side of the game. This really helped them grow the Call of Duty eSports community to a new level. Black Ops 2 has the Call of Duty: Championship (which is confirmed to be returning), MLG Dallas and Anahiem events. Each event had almost 60K viewers.

For Ghosts, not one community eSports member has been contacted by IW or Activision about helping or developing eSports with Ghosts, says Fwiz. This doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad, as Mark Rubin did say that they’re planning on supporting eSports in an interview from E3.

Activision’s Ash Thukral (CoD eSports dev) said “Relax… ” and “please be patient” in responding to Fwiz’s concerns.

  14. Spec Ops rumoured to have been replaced with a new game type

Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature some sort of cooperative mode, but Infinity Ward is staying tight-lipped on its nature. As part of a wider leak prior to the title's official announcement in May, it was rumored that Infinity Ward had dropped the Modern Warfare series' Spec Ops mode in favour of a new co-op game type. And asked this month whether Spec Ops will be returning in the upcoming Call of Duty game, Infinity Ward studio community coordinator Candice Capen said on Twitter:

It's worth pointing out that a number of the rumours featured in the aforementioned leak subsequently turned out to be accurate. In addition, Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin has stated that the studio's intent on pushing the series in new directions with Ghosts.

He said when the game was announced: "Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we're not resting on our laurels. We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can't wait to share them with our community."

Earlier this month, publisher Activision announced pre-order bonus Call of Duty Ghosts DLC in the form of a multiplayer map called Free Fall. It will mark the introduction of "dynamic map events" to the series, which see battlegrounds undergo landscape-altering events during matches.

Activision has confirmed a Call of Duty: Ghosts release date of November 5 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The game will also be a launch title for Xbox One and PS4.

  15. Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC pack will launch on PS3/PC on August 1st.

This pack brings 4 new MP maps, a new zombies map, and new Ray Gun Mark II.

Cove: The stage is set for all-out conflict on this small, forgotten island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, with players battling it out amongst the wreckage of a jet that crash-landed during a smuggling operation gone wrong.

Detour: A destroyed suspension bridge, high above an East Coast waterway, packed with scattered vehicles, exposed iron and collapsed pavement where the head-to-head action will play out on multiple levels.

Rush: Get ready for fast, close-quarters engagements in this paintball course turned full-combat arena, giving players new opportunities and challenges to use the cover to their advantage.

Uplink: In this re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favorite multiplayer map “Summit” from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops, players clash deep in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar, high atop a hi-tech mountain facility.

Treyarch continues to expand the Zombies story world in imaginative, mind-tripping ways with “Buried.” Once players meet up with the four survivors of Tranzit, they’ll begin to encounter the undead residents of an abandoned underground Old West mining town. A healthy arsenal of equipment and weapons will be at players’ disposal, but with one very special addition – something so powerful it will also appear in all other Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies maps (with the purchase of Vengeance DLC) – the Ray Gun Mark II.

Vengeance is the third map pack for Black Ops II. The pack will cost $14.99 or it’ll be free if you are a Season Pass owner.
