You've all heard the speculation, rumors, and hints of zombies returning but now it's time to put an end to it all for good. It was yesterday when we reported » that the GKNOVA6 viral marketing website had been updated, showing more concrete evidence that Black Ops will have zombies. But today we can stop the guessing game. In a press release » that has just been sent out by Activision, they state that zombies was one of the worst kept secrets but that they can finally announce that the community's favorite undead mode will be returning in Black Ops' Co-op mode. Fans will be able to combat the zombie apocalypse in up to four-player co-op gameplay and Treyarch's Studio Head Mark Lamia said that they were "committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to" Black Ops because of the success with World at War's Nazi Zombies. He then went on to say that they have "taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of" the zombie game and that they have a nice surprise for us. The press release also reminds us that those who purchase the Collector Editions will received the four updated co-op maps from World at War. And for those wanting an all new co-op game, Black Ops' Combat Training multiplayer mode offers this as it allows up to six players to rank up (separate from normal MP mode) while fighting against enemy AI. But the announcements don't stop there. Fans of the iPhone and iPod Touch will be happy to hear that Der Riese arrives on the Call of Duty: ZOMBIES app tomorrow, a great way to get your zombie fix before November arrives. Call of Duty: ZOMBIES is developed by Ideaworks Game Studio for the iPhone and iPod touch and all four maps from World at War are available to purchase for $4.99 at the App Store ».
