Hey, I've scurried the forums and couldn't find my answer. I'm pretty new to all of this and literally just recently over the summer got a 360. I have been thinking of flashing it and have done a lot of research on it. One of the big questions is this XGD3. Its apparently the new DVD style Microsoft put in and in order to burn games using this, you need an "iHas" burner or something like that. That's a little pricey and want to know if there is a work-around for that. Do you need to iHas burner to only make backups, or do you need it to actually burn the games. Sorry for my noobish question. Pretty sweet forums by the way. Regards,
you dont need a IHAS drive really, they are just the preferred drive to use, if you check out this thread here http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/59524-list-so-far-of-burnermax-payload-tool-compatible-drives/?hl=payload it has a list of what drives you can use to burn games properly
the drive you get is to burn the games, you will need the ihas drive or the drives that are on the topic above. Either way it works
