Xbox 360 System Update 16547, how it affects flashed and xkey: Yesterday there was a system update on Xbox 360. There has been some confusion over the subject so here's the facts on how it will affect you and your flashed drives, xkey etc: Xbox 360 System Info: Version 2.0.16547.0 Custom firmware info: Flashed drives: Safe Xkey: Safe It is safe to update any flashed consoles and consoles using xKey. Before updating remember to follow these steps to stay safe:
Ahh you beat me to posting Users using XKEY, remember to update via Passthrough mode for your own protection Flashed Drive Users: You should always revert to stock firmware when doing an update anyway.
I haven't for like my last 12 updates (except for the one that I knew would reflash my firmware). I have never had a problem yet. *knocks on wood*
This info is useless. There is an update yes, everyone knows this. But what makes this info useless is it doesn't tell us what Microsoft is changing. I own software that I need to update on a regular basis and the first thing I do is tell the users what will change and what will stay the same. So go ahead and every time there is an update tell all this stuff that we know; because after about 3 or 4 more times of hearing it everyone will stop listening, so now you can start telling people what's changing. By the way, there is a lot more info he is not telling you about the new update.
We don't need to know the details. We're on a modding forum. All we really need to know is if it effects DVD drives/ODE's/Hardware hacks. If it changes any of the above, then of course it will be noted and thread would note down all of them. If you REALLY want to know what the update changed then here you go.
