Microsoft has announced that you won't be able to use your real name online when Xbox One launches, despite previously saying that this would be one of the new features available on Xbox Live when the console releases. According to Kotaku, Xbox owners will be able to identify their friends using their Gamertags next month, but real names won't be appearing online for some time. "While real identities continue to be part of our plans for the experience on Xbox One, at launch, customers will continue to search for friends using their Gamertags," a spokesperson explained. "Our teams are working hard to deliver a quality experience for Xbox One. This means prioritizing some features and sometimes postponing others for a later update." Since it was announced back in February, Sony has mentioned several times that it wants to encourage the use of real names online by PlayStation 4 owners. We haven't heard anything about it for a while though, so it's unclear if this feature has suffered similar setbacks. Xbox One is set to launch globall on November 22. Source - IGN
