It'll be at least a few more months before Twitch direct broadcasting is available on Xbox One, according to the video streaming site.

A message on Twitter from the Twitch Support account reveals that despite previous hopes we'd see the service launch on Microsoft's console early in 2014, this is now looking unlikely.

Though Xbox Live Gold Members have been able to watch all content on Twitch since the console launched back on November 22, it appears there's still a bit of a wait in store before they'll be able to contribute directly from the console. In the mean time, the console does still have its own native video sharing service that allows users to record, edit and upload videos to Xbox Live.

Sony's PS4 currently offers livestreaming via both Twitch and Ustream and, despite initial reservations that console gamers wouldn't embrace the services, it appears the demand is definitely there. A recent announcement by Sony revealed that 1.7 million gameplay broadcasts have been streamed so far across the services, accounting for more than 55 million total minutes broadcast. Twitch has also gone on record to say that 20 percent of its users are streaming via PS4.

When Twitch direct broadcasting does arrive on Xbox One later this year, it'll be interesting to see how much of the site's overall content is streamed from consoles as opposed to PC, as it certainly seems like this is something console gamers are ready to get behind.
