Microsoft today announced that an SDK (Software Development Kit) for the Xbox One which focuses on developers for the Xbox One ecosystem, along with, available tools, and of course the ID@Xbox Program, will be available today to preview testers. The announcement came at the Games Developer Conference, by the Head of all things Xbox, Phil Spencer.

All developers will eventually have access to the devkit in the coming months, although no specific date has been given. The SDK heavily promotes cross-platform features, and use of cross-play, cross-buy, and the unified system being implemented across all Windows 10 releases. The introduction of the SDK also came with the announcement of the expansion of ID@Xbox to new platforms, and new features with DirectX 12.
