It looks like one dreaded component from the Xbox 360 has reared its ugly head in the Xbox One. There was one component in the Xbox 360 that caused more trouble than it was worth, namely the Red Ring Of death, and that very thing is back! The dreaded X-clamp has made a return: Although there is only one clamp, did we really expect to see this thing return?
I don't mind the clamp as long as they aren't using craptastic solder on a paper thin pcb and calling it a motherboard
I mean it wasn't really the source to a lot of the problems with the old consoles. It was how hot the early ones ran and the lack of precautions made to prevent it. Jasper models and thereafter weren't that bad with overheating, some better air ventilation and temperature control will of completely solved the problem. Xclamps only account for the amount of pressure on the heatsink held down to the GPU/CPU. Too much pressure isn't good but it's not like they couldn't of simply adjusted the amount of tension with the new x-clamps
