    I can't see it being as simple but if the smart people can emulate the DVD drive and match it to the motherboard the way it should then maybe you will see some sort of xKey depending on what sort of challenges the Xbox is asking for, hackers are advanced more these days with the technology used in consoles so who knows

    Drive emulation? Maybe. It had better be perfect and never detectable, because as soon as it's detected, online services will be dropped for your console and you will have a very expensive paper weight.

    If you have no net connection NOTHING will work on the One. When live is down your xbox is basically just a cable box.
