Another update for the Wii U is ready for download, version 5.3.0 can be downloaded from the system settings. V5.3.0 improves the Wii U stability and contains bug fixes but the most interesting part of the update is the new amiibo settings. After downloading the new update you will see a new catergory added to the system settings named amiibo. In the amiibo settings you will have the option to register an amiibo owner/nickname, delete data written to an amiibo, or reset amiibo. For those of you that do not know what Amiibo is , it allows you to link plastic characters to your games. These small figures are based on Nintendo's most famous characters such as Mario, and bring games to life using a built-in NFC technology, these toys can interact with certain Nintendo games in various ways. The first Nintendo game set to support Amiibo is Super Smash Bros for Wii U, and Nintendo has now revealed an initial list of other games that will support the toys in some form.
