The new all-in-one Wii Motion Plus Nintendo’s all-new Wii Remote Plus controller for the Wii has been cleared for UK launch, and will be entering the clutches of eager gamers from November 5. The Wii Remote Plus replaces the original Wii Remote, which has been in active duty since the Wii first went on sale nearly four years ago. It combines all the functions of its predecessor with the upgraded motion-sensing goodness of the Wii MotionPlus without requiring the need for an extra add-on clip as before. That aside, Nintendo has kept faith with the original remote’s shape and button layout, clearly wanting to provide familiarity for existing gamers with a minimal learning curve. All existing peripherals can also be accommodated as before. Nintendo will do doubt be hoping that shoehorning the MotionPlus’ improved motion-sensing accuracy directly into the basic remote – rather than requiring an add-on – will spur more games manufacturers to take advantage of the upgraded sensitivity. The Wii Remote Plus will be available in black, pink, white and blue, though we’re still waiting on price details.
