I am a newbie. Please be patient. All the trainers including chameleon trainer require a DEV and JTAG/RGH version. What does DEV and JTAG/RGH mean. I have a retail xbox 360 4gig slim console.
JTAG and RGH (Reset Glitch Hack) are both hardware mods that allows you to run unsigned code on the console. It will enable you to run emulators, trainers and various other possibilities (Although people don't realize that *rolls eyes*) As for Dev, they are native development kits for the console that developers use to develop and debug their games. They are also capable of running unsigned code. However, when most users say "Dev" on 360 modding forums, they actually mean a devkit kernel. A devkit kernel allows you to pretty much emulate how a devkit would work in all aspects with the obvious few that wouldn't work without certain hardware or software. A dev kernel is also a modified kernel that runs on an RGH or JTAG console. So essentially all three are the same thing when it comes to RGH/JTAG/Dev kernel. Oh, and of course. No homebrew will run on a retail console without modifying it with one of the above exploits.
Thank you renegade for your quick reply. Was just wondering can I play copied games on a hardware mod?
You most certainly can. You can actually just extract the ISO and play from the internal HDD or External HDD Among other things, On a retail you can flash the DVD drive to play burned discs or get an Optical Disc Drive Emulator such as XK3Y (Recommended) or Wasabi to play games directly from external HDD (Even on a Retail!)
