I asked him how could I make my mac faster, basically he told me upgrade the ram, or I could swap the logic board, for a i7 powered one.​

So I went with the ram method.​

Indeed, the first thing I did was purchase 16 gigs and a bigger fast HDD. Best money ever spent and memory is so cheap these days.
