The Star Wars Battlefront Developers over at DICE have explained that Heroes such as Luke skywalker and Darth Vader work in the upcoming Multiplayer shooter. Senior Producer Jamie Keen explained their place in battles. According to Keen, both characters are accessed by picking up a specific item on the battlefield. the items will for a limited time, let players become a force wielder. To limit their presence on the battlefield, they will immediately begin to lose health, but players can increase the time they get to use the characters by killing other players, this tops up the force wielders health. The goal was to give an average player around two minutes as either a hero or villain. If you are good enough with the character you can turn those 2 minutes into 5. In theory, you can play as Skywalker for a whole match, but that is highly unlikely to happen. Keen described the way Luke plays as an Acrobatic Character, immensely Powerful and Skilled with the Force. But there is a little down side and that is that he is somewhat new to his powers. His Jump is based on a normal biomechanical jump, but the jump is augmented by the force. You see this feature in films as well. Just like when he jumps out of the carbonite pit or when he's training on Dagobah. Luke's Attacks include a wide sweeping heavy attack with his lightsaber, Which is super handy when taking on a group of enemies who are bunched together. The force is better suited for long distance targets who will be sent flying. The Saber rush allows players to use the force to propel themselves forward and perform a lightning fast attack. You are in luck because the Beta will be open to everyone and Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker will be playable. You will be able to get a taste on what it feels like to be a force wielder.
