Bungie has shown off the Shrike vehicle concept from Destiny, and it’s super sexy. Strongly reminiscent of a Star Wars speeder bike, the Shrike allows players to zip around the vast expanses of Destiny’s worlds and is both upgradeable and summonable on demand. Currently a work in progress, it’s already looking good. A Destiny Drawing Board post on Bungie’s official website explains, “The world of Destiny is an immense frontier. Your missions as a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth will cover a lot of ground. To propel you from one location to the next, no matter which destination you’re fighting to recapture, there is the Shrike. It swallows the landscape like a bird of prey with an insatiable appetite for scenery; be it the crimson dunes of Mars, the lush jungles of Venus, the dusty craters of the Moon, or the rusted wastes of our own homeworld. “It’s sleek, nimble, and fast – a worthy mount for any hero who risks life and limb to explore the lost settlements of our Golden Age. Guardians aboard Shrikes rocket across the frontier borne on contrails of light, delivered to the action at breakneck speed.” The Shrike concept was dreamed up by Isaac Hannaford, while the 3D model was realised by Travis Brady.
