Square Enix London Studios has confirmed the release of Sleeping Dogs, an open-world cop drama set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Sleeping Dogs puts players into the boots of undercover cop Wei Shen, who’s tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organisations, the Hong Kong Triads. Let’s just call it True Crime then. The story will be full of loyalty and betrayal, as Wei even questions his own motives as he is sucked in deeper than he could ever imagine. Since we’re in Hong Kong, we know there will be plenty of innocent civilians shopping in the street markets and in the neon-lit side streets. General Manager of Square Enix London Studios, Lee Singleton said: Adding to that, Stephen Van Der Mescht, Executive Producer at United Front Games said
“Working on Sleeping Dogs has been such a huge passion for the team at United Front Games and we’re really pleased to be working with Square Enix London Studios. The extensive experience both our studios have in creating compelling open-world gameplay and rich and rewarding combat makes for a perfect partnership. Working together we can make sure that Sleeping Dogs is the most intense and immersive experience it can be.”
Sleeping Dogs will be available during the second half of 2012 for Xbox 360.
