I've noticed that there are several tutorials on editing your gold in Skyrim, but all seem to be a tad bit misleading. I am not claiming to have created the method in the tutorial, I am simply sharing it with the forum so that others may also use it. You will need a USB flash drive, Horizon, and a hex editor, I use Hex Workshop. All links will be included at the bottom of this post. Now, you are going to need some gold, and another item; any item is fine, as we are going to change its hex value; and an empty barrel*. So first, you are going to need some gold. 1. a) Place all your gold in the barrel. NOTE: Make sure the barrel is empty, it makes the whole process easier. 1. B) Place all your gold, and one item, regardless of what it is. NOTE: To edit the second item other than gold, follow the instructions through until step 6 2. Save the game. I recommend creating a new save file, so that if you were to somehow make a mistake, you can still load a save file. 3. Now that you have the game saved, move the save file, and your gamer profile to the flash drive. 4. Plug the flash drive into your computer and open Horizon NOTE: Occasionally Horizon will not load your USB flash drive, if this happens, close Horizon and open it again as Administrator 5. Extract your Skyrim save file to your desktop, and open it with Hex Workshop THIS IS WHERE THE MISTAKES CAN BE MADE 6. Search for hex value "40000F". This is the hex value for gold inside of a barrel. This is much easier than the method of searching for the amount of gold you have placed in the barrel. "40000F" will be highlighted, and there are going to be 8 numbers after the highlighted hex value. E.X. 00 00 00 00 7. To give yourself more gold than you could ever shake a stick at, change the value of "00 00 00 00" to "FF E0 F5 05" This will give you 9, 999, 999 gold. 8. Inject the save file with Horizon. Save, Rehash, and Resign 9. Replace the save file and your gamer profile on your HDD, and play away. TO EDIT ITEMS 6. 8. After the value of the gold, which you will have changed to "FF E0 F5 05" there will be another 8 digits. 9. These eight digits are the hex value for whatever item you placed in the barrel. Let's say it was an iron arrow, the hex value will be "00 41 39 7D". 10. Change the hex value to that of the item you wish to have. Let's say you want Daedric Arrows, the hex value will be changed to "00 41 39 C0" NOTE: You don't have to change an arrow to another arrow, you can literally change it to whatever you want. 11. Change the value of the next 8 digits to "FF E0 F5 05" 12. Inject save file 13. Save, rehash, and resign 14. Reload to HDD and enjoy

Thanks for the tutorial. It worked great for the gold part, but I tried adding the Psijic Robes and got nothing :/ Robes: 00065B94 Hood: 00065B99 Gloves: 00065B9D Boots: 00065B9B I know the third digit is supposed to be a 4 when you type in the code, but I'm still coming up short... [EDIT] nvm i'm dumb lol
For the item, is the third digit REQUIRED to be 4? Because I noticed that Daedric Arrow is 000139CO, not 004139CO. [EDIT]: Also, I wouldn't mind a more in-dept tutorial that goes through every little thing that I would need to do in order to make this work. [EDIT2]: Nevermind, I figured out my problem. I DO have to put a "4" at either the third digit or the last leading zero. But I wouldn't mind a few tips on editing multiple items in a row, say 3-5.
I have never experienced it coming up more than once really. So I am not sure what advice to give you, other than looking for thenext item code e.x. the Iron Arrow code after the Gold code
The hex editing wouldn't make the disc unreadable, or effect loading the game into the menu whatsoever. The problem is with your hardware
It is free if you go to cnet to download it, although the Hex Workshop website will link you to the cnet download anyway It is also only a free trial, but I highly recommend purchasing it, as it is by far the best Hex Editor I have ever used.
Then you haven't placed the Gold in a barrel. Also I should point out that this is specifically for Xbox360 versions of the game. It also will work better if you stand directly in front of the barrel when saving.
As of right now I do not know how to edit for multiple items in the same barrel, but I will do some testing and see if I can't figure it out for you. Also I can't think of a more in depth way to explain what I am doing, it is fairly straight forward once you get it completed one time. And yes, the third digit or last leading zero always has to be 4.
Hey can you help me by putting up some pictures because my page on hex workshop is just full of random numbers and i dont know how to search for spesific codes (40000F) for example. thanks in advansed - SirPercival
youre wrong there. it makes the .exs file unreadable so the data from the disc and the data from the save file do not actually coincide. its almost like youve made two seperate files now. one random, then the actual game. it comes up disc unreadable as the data from the disc doesnt actually match the file of the save as the hex values may be too high ctrl + F is to find a specific Hex value, but i'd wait until there is a tutorial up so you can understand what to do so you dont end up corrupting your save file.
be more specific with which file youre talking about... because there is the .BAK/.EXS file then there is the savegame.DAT
I got the gold but i put a few iron ingots into the barrel as well. I was wondering, How to i add more? or change them into Gold ingots?
