    Story
In Silent Hill 2, you are back to the town of Silent Hill as James, a man who lost his wife several years earlier. One day, he receives a letter from his dead wife telling him to come back to Silent Hill, but what he finds there when he returns is nothing short of horrifying. In Silent Hill 3, you take control of a teenage girl named Heather, players must explore and unravel the mysterious connection between the god-forsaken town and her inner fears.

    Gameplay
Silent Hill isn’t about the edge of your seat horror that the Resident Evil series is known for, instead they go for the sick and twisted horror that is meant to make the gamer want to run for their life. Age can be ugly. Imprecise melee combat leads to more flight than fight, for better or worse. Unwieldy control schemes don’t cooperate with the camera, whose cinematic presentation means to give you an interesting perspective of each room. This often limits your view while your in certain places. As you explore the world and see places that you have visited in the past, it’s crazy to see how much detail has been added to make sure you get immersed in the world of Silent Hill like you’ve never been there before. From the hallways, buildings and outside environment you get the feeling that you are stuck in a world that you have explored before, but with a all new twist that will still keep you scared out of your mind.

    Verdict
While playing through the adventure of Silent Hill 2 you get this exhausting feeling from the deep-cutting metaphors present in the thought-provoking story. Silent Hill 3 is a much slower experience than Silent Hill 2 which isn’t a bad thing. For a good, long while, our Heather’s unknown path leads to aimless wandering through corridors, and after so long it takes too long to tell the story. The puzzles are as obtuse and mindless as Silent Hill gets. The weight of a narrative fueled by religion, personal feelings and murderers eventually picks up. Sure the environments and enemies are just as messed up as you remember them but after many hours of gameplay you will feel drained from playing this game. Not many games offer this type of experience anymore. This is the collection for any survival horror fan looking for that old school fix that franchises can’t seem to capture these days. This is worth every penny at full retail and if you can’t afford to buy it then rent it because with two classics to keep you cringing in fear is something that doesn’t come around every day in the gaming industry.
