If you own the PlayStation 3 version of Rayman Legends, you won't be able to get the PlayStation 4 version at a discounted rate. Ubisoft confirmed on the PlayStation Blog today that the publisher will not offer any kind of upgrade program for the game. The same is likely true for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game. Various upgrade offers were in place for big-budget games like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Call of Duty: Ghosts, where players could buy the PS3/Xbox 360 version of the game and then upgrade to the PS4/Xbox One version for a fee--typically $10. Also on the PlayStation Blog, senior game designer Emile Morel teased that a new 3D Rayman title might be in the works. "It is very possible that Rayman will be in 3D again one day," Morel said. "After all, the series began in 2D, and then the games were made in 3D, and finally went back to 2D with recent titles--this is a story cycle and I think that all forms are possible in the future of the series!" That's no doubt good news for fans who might not have enjoyed the 2D Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends, the most recent entries in the core series. Finally, Morel said rapper Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) will not appear as a playable character in Rayman Legends, despite being featured in one trailer for the game. Rayman Legends for PS4 and Xbox One, which launches next week, features sharper visuals than the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. And thanks to the power of both consoles, the game on PS4 and Xbox One will do away with loading times when players enter or exit a level. Source: GameSpot
