    Two separate questions, actually.

First, what is the easiest way to transfer soft TUs to my PC? None of the available updates here for Grand Theft Auto IV (Complete Edition), Fallout 3 GOTY edition, or Fable II Platinum Hits were the more recent available update, but all are cache-based updates.

Is there any way I can save the soft updates to a memory device and transfer them using a tool like the X360 Xplorer? Or do I need some sort of proprietary transfer device from MS to get it off the HDD?

Second, how can I find out the Media ID of the games I have? Would make findikng the proper updates easier when there are multiple sets of "Region Free" or "NTSC-U" updates in the database here.

I wouldn't worry about the media ID, just get the right game, you can see if it is working by looking in the regular Xbox 360 dashboard under memory and open the game.

Also I have a tutorial pinned here on how to use a USB stick, formatted for Xbox 360 game saves to do the transfer for you. Simply Install the TU to the USB stick, then plug in the stick, go to memory manager and copy it to the HDD.

I was specifically asking about "soft" updates that are saved to the 360's cache, not the "hard" updates that appear as files in the Storage menu under the game's folder. I thought I saw a tutorial for doing that a while back, but I can't find it, and I wasn't sure how to make it work even when I was looking at it.

    Still looking for an answer...

Do I need some sort of special transer cable to access the cache of my 360 and/or HDD? Since when you save a "soft" patch, it doesn't give a choice of where to save it to.
