For whatever reason, when the PS4 first came out the minimum save file was 10.49 MB. While that might not seem like too big, it’s a lot of space merely for a game save and was typically substantially higher for a game on other consoles. While it’d take a lot of save files for the rule to make a dent on a PS4, it’s something that overtime could accumulate and cause issues. However, it looks like Sony has come to their senses and have reduced the minimum save file to 3.15 MB. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V and Grim Fandango are the first games to take advantage of the new requirements. It is still odd that a file minimum remains, however, as in the case of Grim Fandango the save file could easily be under a megabyte like the original. Source: ps3news
