After the Holidays outage the official status of the PSN has been set to “Heavy Network Traffic,” and remained that way for over two weeks, reporting possible latency due to high volume of connections.

Today Sony Computer Entertainment had a maintenance that was initially supposed to last until 1 PM PST, but the company announced at about 2:25 PM PST that the maintenance was still undergoing.

At last, after a little over an hour things are now all green, and the PSN is back online and accessible for its users.

As you can notice, the status also lost the “Heavy Traffic” mention, indicating that at long last the PSN is back in prime condition after the Holidays.

Hopefully the effects of the promised investment in increasing the capacity of the PlayStation Network will become apparent soon, but the worst seems to be behind us, at least for now.
