Planetside 2 beta launch date confirmed.

Planetside 2's PS4 beta has been assigned a launch date by Sony.

The beta for the online multiplayer shooter will go live on January 20, according to executive producer Clint Worley.

"We'll be using this beta period to test our servers, performance, and various other aspects of the game, and we also want you to share constructive feedback on PlanetSide 2," Worley said on the PlayStation Blog.

"We want the massive battles to make your heart pound and adrenaline pump, so share your thoughts with us."

All players in the closed beta will be given access to the beta forums, which is being advertised as the primary location for development and feedback.

The launch month of the beta was confirmed in December by Sony Online Entertainment's John Smedley.

It was originally on course to make its PS4 debut in 2014.
