    Folks,

I used to have an RGH over an year ago, but sold it and haven't used one since. I'm trying to refresh my memory on a couple of things and also looking to see if there's newer tools then what I used to use.

So first things first: what's the best tool to use to Extract/Convert a retail ISO -> Game Folder for the RGH Hard Drive? I remember using a tool that could do multiple ISO's and even FTP them straight to the RGH Hard Drive, and I was able to "skip System Update" files when extracting the ISO. I've forgotten the name though. There might be something newer. Any advice/suggestion will be appreciated.

Second, I do remember using 360ContentManager extensively back in the day. Is that still the best way to go? If I remember correctly, that's good for DLC & Updates, but not for Retail (Game Folders), correct?

What about GOD versions? What's the best way to move them to RGH Hard Drive?
For example, I have "Alien Isolation" in GOD. It has a "5345085E" main folder with two sub-folders, "00000002" and "00007000". Each has it's own set of files. Should I be using "360ContentManager" to move this or something else?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I progress.

    Thanks again!

Hello, welcome to the dual-nand world.

What tool to extract ISO ?
    • Xbox Backup Creator
    • 360 Iso Extract
Those 2 will see you good!

What tool is best to patch DLC/XBLA ?
    • 360ContentManager
    Nothing else, nothing more.

    GOD Games

Personally I avoid GOD format I either rip from a retail game disc / extract the ISO and just copy it to my external USB as follows:

    USB0:\Xbox 360\GAME FOLDER

And FreeStyle will pick it up as usual. Unless you have a big INTERNAL hard drive you'd just FTP it using 360ContentManager it will place it in the correct place usually the INTERNAL hard drive.

Thanks a bundle for getting back, appreciate your time.

"360 ISO Extract", I believe that's the one I used to use. Is it this one: Link ?
What is the role of XBOX Back Creator? Is that an alternate to XISO or has a different purpose?

    360ContentManager is awesome!

I too usually avoid GOD games; this title just happened to be in the format. So will 360ContentManager pick it up correctly and place it in the correct folder on my internal HDD?

Thanks for the link to update Dual-Nand.

    Thanks man!

Regarding xISO you can use that / Xbox Backup Creator to extract ISO > http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/584-xbox-backup-creator-v29-build0425-by-redline99/

Yes, with DLC 360ContentManage SHOULD put them in the correct specified place is not I apologise in advance.

Lastly if you have an external hard drive full of games and use FSD set the folders on the drive like this:

    XBLA
    XBOX 360

This keeps the FSD tidy and your drive organised, source: PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

    Awesome!

Quick question for you. I was trying XBOX Backup Creator, I couldn't quite figure out how to Extract ISO -> Folder using this program. And are you also able to skip "System Update" like xISO?

    Thanks!

I personally use XBOX360 iso extract, as it supports batch extract very well ;)
