I have been at the end of my sanity trying to get my main desktop to work wireless but keep failing each derm attempt no matter wth i try. I have installed multiple wireless adapters and all of them fail the same way, either they don't fully install or the the wireless connection stays stuck in disabled even though it says enabled? No matter what you suggest or recommend I have done it all and google sadly is no help at all for me. I been working on pcs most my life and never had such trouble like this in my life! I recently installed D-link DWA-140 would love it if anyone can tell me why it stays stuck in disabled and how the heck I can get it to enable so I can finally get my pc back online... Please don't recommend restarts or reinstalls...
Recommendation - Go WIRED I have never been wireless so i can't really recommend anything useful apart from might be a dodgy wireless card or router
Have you used a wireless adapter successfully in that pc before? Also im no computer wiz so im gonna go out on a limb and guess that a wireless network adapter plugs into your motherboard (Possibly a fault with the port?) Not the ideal solution but could try just running it wired if that's an option
youd think since its brand new out the box its already updated windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and everything else always reads, installs works perfectly but wireless adapters plague my system... another issue is the connection manager shortcut that installs to desktop never ever opens either...
Not at all. A lot of places don't update the discs after they create it. I never would install the drivers on the disc for something. I always go online and find the latest.
Exactly what Wallsch said. I would check to make sure the adapters you are using are compatible with 64-bit and check to see if the have a proprietary connection manager because sometimes that works better than the OEM one.
ok just saw that many people are having trouble with 64bit but not to many have the most expensive version of windows which is Ultimate so can someone please help me find up to date drivers for windows 7 ultimate 64bit thank you... cause i see people only posting problems for w7 64bit bit i have ultimate
Home, Pro, and Ultimate are all the same when it come to drivers, the only difference is feature set for end user.
This sounds like an issue with windows 7 being a touchy little B****..... I run windows 7 64 bit on my other laptop and I will say that Windows 7 just simply does not get along with certain pieces of hardware and software.... I am willing to bet this is an operating system issue, and that only a System update that addresses this issue will fix the problem...... Join the club...
Sorry to hear that, i myself is running ultimate x64 and have never had a problem. Have you never been able to get it working since buying the pc or has it recently stopped? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
