    Hi Guys!

I know its been quite a while but I have had much going on what with the new baby and all so dont have much time for this kind of thing at the moment, However I am in need of a little assistance.

I recently got an iPhone 3GS and naturally the first thing I wanted to do is jailbreak it lol.

I know how to jailbreak the phone with no problem as I have jailbroken a few iPhone 3/3GS in the past.
I also know how to change baseband and all that to unlock the carrier of the phone if it is too high.

My 3GS is on the new bootrom 359.3.2
The problem I am having is that the phone works fine with no problems at all until I jailbreak it.

I have been trying do this with Redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3 + P0sixpwn

The phone will jailbreak fine but once I have jailbroken it and installed P0sixpwn from Cydia my phone begins randomly powering off when opening apps or making calls e.c.t.

It does not just fade away it drops the power as if you had done a hard reset (Sleep+Home Button)

I began to think it may be due to the battery maybe being faulty
but after a few restores I noticed that the issue only arises once the phone is jailbroken.

So I was wondering Is this because of the phone being on the new bootrom 359.3.2?
and if so is there anyway to fix/jailbreak the 359.3.2 bootrom in order to fix the power drops?

Like I say it only happens once the phone is jailbroken
so I am thinking it must be something to do with that.

any help anyone give is greatly appreciated. [IMG]

The 3GS can be upgraded to 6.1.3 then use envasi0n as far as I know, I'll reserch for you but I think that's the way

ahh ok that sounds good however my 3gs is currently on ios 6.1.6
can I downgrade the ios from 6.1.6 to 6.1.3?

I understand there are ways to downgrade the ios on older devices
but I am unsure if that is possible anymore.

    thanks for the help. :)

Yeah I already tried that the other day but when I connect my 3GS it says
"Sorry, the version of IOS (10B500) of the attached device is not supported."

So unfortunately I can not use that for ios 6.1.6

Can I downgrade the ios to 6.1.3?

I'm sure there is an envasi0n already for iOS 6, if you have the SHSH saved then you should be able to downgrade I'd have thought

thanks for the heads up mate

I did have a go at this and managed to get evasi0n 7 to accept the 3gs on 6.1.6
but it would only do half of the jailbreak lol.

It installed the evasi0n app and asked me to unlock the phone and tap the evasion app to continue
then it just sits doing nothing lol

however if I can find the ios 6 version I may be able to do the same with that. ;)

I'm having a hunt around will let you know how I get on
and yeah saved SHSH Blobs before I did anything. ;)

OK well I think it may just be a battery issue after all

to try an eliminate the jailbreak being my problem I decided to restore my 3gs back to factory via itunes
my thinking being if it is not an issue with the jailbreak then even as stock it would still power off.

when the phone is fully charged it is fine and works well
but I had noticed that every time it powered off it would do so at around 55% and 65%

So over the course of the day since I restored the phone to stock I have been using the phone allot in order to run the battery down and sure enough at 60% it powered off suddenly.

I then put it on charge and it showed me the power symbol that indicates that the battery is dead
and after a while left like that the phone will then boot up again and stay on for a while until the next power drop.

So I think the phone needs to have the battery replaced
and it just so happens I have a good working battery to replace it with.

Hopefully once I have replaced the battery
I will be able to finally get this thing up and running how I want lol.

I will keep you guys posted on how I get on
And thank you very much for all of your help. ;)

OK so it has taken me an hour but I have successfully replaced the battery in my 3gs
and so far it seems to have fixed the problem with the phone powering off!! :D

it seems it was a problem with the old battery after all and the old battery when I removed it was all fat and bloated looking
so no wonder the phone was having issues!

Before the phone would not boot unless charging
and even at 55% to 65% battery it would tell me it was completely dead.

I have installed the new battery and the phone powered back up straight away
with no stalling and only 20% charge in the new battery.

so I'm gonna give the new battery a damn good charge
and hopefully now I can finish jailbreaking this thing without any issues. :)

Thanks again for the help guys. ;)
