how do you earn REP?

hello, i was looking around and noticed people with REP, how can you earn it? can u gt it by posting alot like TTG? or do people have to give it to u? and how?

make some good high quality threads and help people out. they will give you some rep if you have helped them out or if they like your thread or post

Correct me if I'm wrong but to give rep don't you click on their profile and then rate them by stars?
