Can it be done I have tried modding a pice of armour that I dyed into a wepon the color didn't stick so I was wondering how u could do it I heard of a guy running aroumd with a black innas staff. I haven't seen it but it would be amazing to switch the color of wepons and legendary armour.
Well d3 pc isn't d3 console, currently it's not possible to dye armors but weapons isn't dyeble as well even in pc, iv'e tried to dye my legendary armor with a vanishing dye value and it worked but other dye colors i haven't tried because of the current game version it wont display dye color sprite armors correct me if im wrong.
Don't know I dyed a rare armour and switched the armour hex code to wepon one and it didn't carry the color over but it did switch it to the wepon that's all I got tryed it 2 different ways
Lol you just answered your own thread and now im confused your 1st post said that your'e not able to dye the weapon then last post you said it switched dye to you weapon lol
No worries mate been testing myself as well you mean that guy your saying has all black dyed set including weapons?
Wow so I guess there's no way then to hex edit the colars then that's crazy I wonder what the program does to changes to mod the colar of the wepon
idk but I ran into a guy on ps3 that had that and he said the programs name but I was buzzed all I remember was that the program cost around 80 bucks
While I haven't tested it myself at this second.. although as soon as the kids are in bed i will. I have thought about this myself while studying the item template I wanna make mine invisible but regardless since the byte forbthe dye color exists on weapons its possible it would effect it...or just be ignored. Edit: I was wrong the byte doesn't exists on a "standard" weapon... but if we modify an already died piece of equipment into a weapon IT DOES WORK! well sorta... ill explain first I tested using the spring dye which failed to apply any effect. Then I tested against an invisibility dye an to great surprise it worked. This is because the invisibility dye in code is telling the game not to display the weapon at all. this isn't actually change anything related to the weapons image. Now I'm left really interested in the Abyssal dye code while I know testing shows that its never going to color the weapon in fact i believe the dyes are prefabricated sub images meaning most colors are just different variates of the same item. So for colors when the game searches for the sub image of a weapon its not going to find anything. the exception is when a special dye code tells the game to actually effect the image like the invisibility dye, and possibly this Abyssal dye code which if im right will take an item(weapon/armor) and tell the game to replace the skin with black. This might work because its not asking the game for black variant but is simply removing the skin an coloring the 3d object black. If I'm right the person you say you saw had modded is weapon in this way 1.) Dye a piece of armor with Abyssal dye 2.) Change Item ID an Stat IDs to that of a desired weapon 3.) return to game If anyone can post the Abyssal dye code that be awesome to test. if you need to know where to find the hex for dye code http://www.360haven.com/forums/threads/28145-tutorial-diablo-iii-item-modding/
I just notice you play Xbox and probably has something to do with a ingame trainer but continuing with the game save concept ... what is the dye code ? an have you tried bottled smoke ? other then those ideas if all else he might have found a code not meant for use but does infact make it black
sorry it took so long to reply but I think I found what u was looking for I got a bunch of codes off a jail broken ps3 that item is a shadow weapon add me yactown50187 take a look and see if that's what your after
