GTA 5 could potentially make it’s way on to next generation platforms according to Rockstar. The imminent release of GTA 5 on the current generation Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is still the primary focus over at Rockstar, but they did confirm that interest in the Xbox One and PS4 will be closely monitored. Leslie Benzies, President of Rockstar North was questioned yesterday during the unveiling of Grand Theft Auto Online. When asked how they plan to develop GTA Online with an impending migration to next generation consoles, Benzie said: “We already have plans for what the next world holds in terms of missions, new content, clothes, apartments, for the next while. But we really want to see what people are playing, and we’re putting a lot of effort into the back end, so we can keep an eye on exactly how long people are spending in deathmatches, races, and all the other modes – just to see what they’re doing. And if we see any peaks anywhere, then we know where to concentrate our efforts. There’s not a lot of data out there for us. There’s very few games like GTA Online – so we’ll play it by ear and see what the consumers want.†Benzie was again asked about next generation consoles and whether they will help and allow Rockstar to expand on plans more easily: “We’ll get the current gen version out first and see what happens in the future.†This doesn’t confirm nor deny the possibility, but it is likely Rockstar is working on a next generation title for their Grand Theft Auto franchise. GTA 5 will be released on September 17th for the Xbox 360 and PS3 followed by GTA Online on October 1st. Source: CVG
I hope so, my 360 is one of the first that was released and i'm not wanting to get a new 360 just to enjoy GTA V. Besides, why the hell wouldn't they want to make more money??
