    Hi

Am having probs with the Lost Planet 3 save editor available on this site. The reason posting here is that I tried another editor on another site and got the same issue so curious to know more about these unhandled errors.

It seems to me that more often than not, whatever stage of a mission you're at, there is a big chance that you get this error when opening your save. The designer then comes up with an update which is alleged to "fix the pointer" which is often at the root of this problem. There is finally a long exchange about which version of .net is installed etc etc.

I follow these threads intently but am not clear whether they are ever truly resolved.

In my case I get the unahandled exception error with two Lost Planet 3 editors. My experience is that's its hit and miss with this error depending on day of the week and whether there is an r in the month etc etc!!

Am happy to provide save and for folk to move this to another forum but hopefully justified why I put it here.

(run Win 7 32 bit on desktop)

    Thanks you.

Try running the editors in compatibility mode this usually fixes the problem.

First of if its a regular editor without a launcher such as Rev 360 then right click the editor go to properties then look around for compatibility mode and run it on your OPS.

If it is in the Revolution 360 then that's out of my hands and cant help you with that.

    Update.

"Played around". Tried every conceivable version of Windows to no avail. Think I'm going to put out a tender for an IT consultant to fix this unhandled malarkey.

I can't speak for those editors that you've used (since I didn't create them nor are they in 360Revolution). That said, keep in mind to run the editors as Admin. If you're doing that then it could be that a Title Update of the game has changed parts of the save that seems to affect the editor's reading/writing -- in that case, I would try deleting the title update then create a new save and load up the new save in the editor to see if that works.

If all else fails, I would contact the developer of the tool.

    Hi
Sorry if posting in original forum when post has been moved to another.
The error did, in fact, present itself using the 360rev save editor in addition to the “other tool”.
I haven’t tried deleting the title update so will try that.

    Thanks

What other tool? I ask because I only see you mention something about Lost Planet 3 Editor which 360Revolution does not have.

Depends how the editor has been created as to if your system has the correct dll's to run that editor the correct way, part of creating an editor or programming is when you create it your system has everything needed and this stage is where beta testing gives you the idea of what to include when packing for general release
