I'm in need of a little help. I have encountered a game breaking glitch with 60 hours progress into Kingdoms of Amalur. I was doing a main storyline mission called "The Great General" and as I was about to activate the Windstone I was teleported elsewhere for another mission [activated by finding all 5 lorestones - but this was delayed by about 30 minutes] in which I died and had to reload the autosave. Upon reloading I am unable to continue the mission. I get the same dialogue from the NPC as if I've already activated the mission, received the quest item and activated the first Windstone, but I don't have the quest item I need; the "Erathi Windchime".

I've been searching for answers for hours now, I've tried multiple save editors and I'm now playing with a hex editor but I have no idea what I'm doing. Is it possible someone can tell me how to add the item or complete the quest in a hex editor? I would really appreciate any help at all.

243 views and not a single response. Surely there's someone skilled enough to figure this out.

I tried removing an item in my inventory and then compared the two saves in Hex Workshop but there were too many changes so I just couldn't figure out where the inventory began and finished and where I'd add the hex entry for the item I need.

Then is there a way someone could simply edit my save so that the quest is marked as completed and I continue as normal?

There might be an editor somewhere, for this game.

I found two editors. One doesn't function and the other will only edit the easy stuff involving numbers.

I guess I'm fucked. I'll have to start over again.

One of the editors I saw did have the function to complete a quest, so I know it's possible, but unfortunately that editor wouldn't install.
