We have previously discussed FIFA 14 and the Ultimate Team feature and mentioned EA and Microsoft making a deal which would mean the game would be exclusive to the Xbox One. There has since been an update for the PC version of the game, but this news hasn’t pleased everybody.
If you were at the the Xbox One launch then you when it was EA’s time to go onto the stage you would have seen them flaunt the new Ignite engine. Games that have comes from the THQ like Madden, NBA Live, UFC and FIFA 14 will all run using this new engine.
According to EA the Ignite engine comes with a system which has human intelligence and will make animation ten times better and give precise environments. They said the with the engine you would also get Al athletes which will have the engine working four times faster that the engine before it on the current gen consoles was able to.
For Fans of FIFA 14 this may be great, but not so much if you use the PC to play the game on as they won’t actually be getting the Ignite engine. Ignite will currently only be used for the PS4 and the Xbox One and EA haven’t yet said anything about the PC having it too.
Many fans are upset about this news as a large portion of the EA community are gamers that use the PC to play the game on. The choice for the PC not to get the Ignite engine is rather odd as PCs and next generation consoles share the same architecture.
Just several weeks ago we talked about EA needing to find a super new engine to use for FIFA 14 since news came out about competition coming out for it in shape of the Fox engine.
Will people actually bother to purchase the PC version of FIFA 14 knowing full well that the Ignite engine won’t be included with it? It sort of seems like EA have chosen to just neglect PC owners.
