Far Cry Classic, Ubisoft's high-definition update of the first Far Cry game, is crossing the pond from Europe to North America and will be released stateside on Feb. 11, the publisher announced today. Ubisoft said last month that Far Cry Classic would be released Feb. 12 in Europe on PlayStation Network and Xbox Games Store, but today's announcement is the first time the publisher has confirmed a North American launch for the game. Crytek developed the original Far Cry, and it was released in March 2004 exclusively on Windows PC. Far Cry Classic marks the first time the shooter will be available on consoles. Far Cry Classic brings the original game into 720p high definition and also includes other graphical upgrades, as well as a revamped user interface and redone cutscenes. It will cost $9.99 on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Source Polygon
