If you have your pick of consoles, playing The Elder Scrolls Online will be slightly cheaper on Sony's platform. ZeniMax Online Studios has confirmed that you'll be able to play online without a PlayStation Plus subscription on PlayStation 4, but you'll still need Gold to access it on Xbox One. Naturally, you'll still need to pay the monthly subscription fee no matter which platform you choose. In a Q&A on the PlayStation Blog, game director Matt Firor said that Plus isn't required for to play on the PS4. Bethesda subsequently told Joystiq that Gold will be required on Xbox One. Being a little more cozy with Sony makes sense, as putting the game out on consoles at all was apparently their idea. The much larger cost across both consoles and PC, though, will be the subscriptions. It's set at $14.99 per month, so even without the added cost of a console subscription you'll be paying out-of-pocket for the privilege.
