The patch introduces various enhancements, changes and updates of various influence, affecting the gameplay, performance, and many other aspects of our game. In essence, when you are playing an unpatched version of Dying Light, you are playing a different game. This does not apply to everyone, so it’s up to you to check if you allowed the update to take effect. The Easiest way to tell is to look at your Skill Progress bar on the top of your screen. Take a look at the screenshots above to see if your game’s progress bar’s look matches the patched version. Your ability to have the optimal experience as well as play co-op and the Be the Zombie mode are essentially tied to this patch. Summary of improvements are below. - Improved tutorials and hints to better guide the players through the game - Additional animations and effects in the combat system to make it more varied - Many little artistic improvements to the environment, characters and cutscenes to make the game even more photo-realistic and appealing - A lot of tweaks to the environment and player controls to make Parkour more intuitive and fluent - Higher performance of the game for smoother experience - Many tweaks to the game’s economy, balance, loot and challenges to make it more accessible yet still challenging for more advanced players - Gameplay and challenge tweaks of the Night cycle to make it even more intense, yet accessible especially for beginners - Optimizations of network code to better support online gameplay experience, especially in Be the Zombie mode
