Reports have resurfaced that Bungie will begin selling Heavy Ammo Synths for Silver, an in-game currency purchased using real money. That’s according to VG247, which cites a “source familiar with the matter”. There’s no more to add to the report itself. Bungie is going to sell ammo for money. Wow.It’s not the first time we’ve heard this rumour. Last year it was suggested that the House of Wolves expansion would not contain a Raid, microtransactions would be added to the game, and ammo packs would be sold for real money. The first two chunks of this rumour turned out to be true: House of Wolves didn’t have a Raid and microtransactions have turned up in the game. Ammo for sale is the only one of this trifecta of bad news not to have come true. Yet.Destiny is currently in crisis. Players are leaving the game in droves, thanks to a lack of content, dodgy online competitive play, and poor communication from Bungie. We spoke about it during our coverage of the latest Weekly Update. There’s also talk of serious problems behind closed doors at the studio. Last week it emerged that Bungie has delayed the launch of Destiny 2 (or whatever it’s going to be called) from September this year, the internal target date for release.According to reports, the studio’s tools are poor, communication between management and staff is at a low, pressure from Activision is high, and the internal roadmap for the game is unclear. All is not well If Heavy Ammo Synths being sold for real money actually comes to pass, Bungie may face an even greater backlash from Destiny’s remaining player base. It's a grubby move.
Bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Buy ammo with real money to play the game lmao, I can see them bring out a gjallarhorn 2.0 (rocket sponge) just to make you need more ha!
