EA and DICE have announced that a Star Wars: Battlefront beta will be kicking off in early October for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, offering a technical test in which you'll be able to try out 40-player Walker Assault battle on Hoth and a co-op Survival Mission on Tatooine.
In Walker Assault, not only will you get to mix it up in a 20v20 skirmish, but you'll also be able to play as Hero characters Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. In Survival Mission, meanwhile, you'll get to join a (petty) Rebel friend in fighting waves of Imperial forces.
There'll also be the brand new Drop Zone mode in the beta, which DICE still has yet to release details on, but will be revealing soon. The Star Wars: Battlefront Companion app will also be available during the beta, featuring the strategic card game Base Command, as well as stats, progression and loadout/appearance customisation stuff.
Star Wars: Battlefront's beta launches in early October, ahead of the full game's release from 17th November 2015.
