I received a repaired Falcon from a vendor on Ebay that sells older dash repaired units and came across this interesting repair method in the attached photo.I searched every forum and on google using various keywords but could not find anything about this. I am very interested to know if anyone else has tried this and know of any advantages to this.

This has half of an x-clamp and two screws with washers. I would call it a hybrid repair but there is already an established hybrid repair method on the internet. I applied this method to another of my xenons that has been prone to 0102 errors and so far so good but it has only been a week. The x-clamp was not easy to cut so I this does not seem like an amatuer repair.

i have never seen anything like that. i couldn't imaging leaving any of the xclamp in there being reliable at all since it is still going to lose it's pull eventually.
