Sorry if these topics come up a lot but i'm a beginner at this so please bare with me.

So my first attempt (as i'm sure a fair amount of people do) I screwed up and got about 5 achievements with an impossible order. Obviously i've learnt from that but what other advice is there to avoid getting a reset?

If I use saves to get achievements with reasonable time limits and don't abuse it, whats the likelihood of getting caught, given my previous screw up?

The solution is simple. Don't mod your saves, use gamesaves.

If you are afraid of being banned or reset then don't do it all all.

Using these methods are at your own risk. There is no guaranteed answer that will help you to avoid being reset or banned.

The chances are little to none, but there's always that little risk by participating in any type of modding.

Ok cheers guys. For just a handful of achievements out of order, does Microsoft have a history of turning a blind eye or do they try and crack down on any form of cheating

It took them over a year to get me after maxing my achievements on about 8 different games and all that happened was a reset. No ban, just a reset.

Hmm ok, were those ones mostly correct order and done offline, or did they come across dodgy when you did them?

Try always offline the first time.So if anything goes wrong you can always recover your gamertag and nothing happens.

Agreed, a must but testing on a dummy tag is better and easier ;) Better to be safe the sorry :(
Like he said, there is no guarantee no matter what you have been told if you go online ;)
The above quotes above is some of the best advice ;) . Always test anything on a dummy tag or offline, because not everyone describes there saves in detail. :wallbash:
Load & Pop saves that pop several achievements at once is also bad, no matter if they do pop in order. If you use these make sure your offline, because of timestamps ;)

Hi there. I got experience with bans so I know what i'm saying.

Using achievement save set will not make you banned/reset
You can hack you achievements one by one with le fluffie and unlock the achievements you can't do.
I had a reset (4 years ago) on my first account (now banned for jtag use). I'm acctually doing that. I mod achievements I can't do.
If you do it right and if you not abuse, you will be safe. Here's my tuturial (click me).
    Everything you need is there.
    This is for achievements.

You can't get banned for modding a savegame. It's simply because it doesn't touch the online play.
Game like Crackdown, Skyrim, Halo Anniversary/Halo 4/Halo 3/Halo: REACH/Halo 3: ODST (campaing), Red Dead Redemption, etc.

You're safe if you mod you solo/campaing.

    You will be banned if;
    - You mod your avatar color
    - Hack online like 10th perstigne, god mode, etc
    - Hack microsoft points
    - Mod you ProfileCrow
    And may more *online* offence.

Remember if you mod a game campaing or offline, you're safe! (Don't hack anything related to multiplayer)

I used to mod my gamesaves for 4 years and I never been banned for that. I've been twice for online mods.
Saves like you said here "corrupt leaderboard ranks etc.." touch the online experience.
You will never see your profile banned from Live, you'll just get a Game ban.
I hacked, on my previous account, ME3 Online, CoD: BO2 Online, Halo: REACH and Halo 4. All online ;) I got a in-game ban and I been perma banned from live because (this is the only real way to get banned faster) I was repported by jealous kids.

    ** Modding a game online
with a save or a gpd is a minimal offence. In-Game Perma Ban
** Modding a game online with a Jtag or RGH is a major offence. Profile and console perma ban.
    This was for gamesaves modding.

IMPORTANT: You don't have to "test" offline before if you mod campaing (solo) and games like skyrim. You are 10000% safe if you DON'T touch everything related to ONLINE experience (Halo 4 armors, CoD Recoveries, etc).
Like 343 Industries said, you are ALLOWED to mod a game (map, for halo) as long it will never ruin the online play.

    This is the bannable offence:
    - Using a Jtag/RGH online
    - Participate in a game with a user who is using a Jtag/RGH
    - Host Booting to get adventage
    - Achievement Modding (reset ONLY if you abused)
    - Profile Crown editing
    - Avatar Color editing
    - Unlocking all avatar clothes from the marquet
    - Extreme Vulgarity

This is what you can do 100% SAFLY:
    - Modding halo 4 Maps (You also publish them, 343 allow us)
    - Modding games like skirim
    - Modding you Minecraft world
    - Savegame modding
    - Bio Editor (Make sick bios)

    You what I mean?
All the mods you make shouldn't touch online experience (Halo 4 modded maps is an exception)

You can PM me if you need help or infos! ^_^

Yeah I should be alright on that front as *most* of my friendslist is real life friends who don't really take any interest in achievements/gave saves etc and wouldn't report me anyway, obviously have a few people met online but generally quite selective about it, so hopefully fine :p

So, using something like this is not any good? http://www.xpgamesaves.com/files/file/3783-avatar-clothing-generator/ i am not sure if it unlock ALL of the items which of course sounds like a big risk, as much as i'd like to get some items (not all) not sure if this is safe.
