    Hey Guys,

There's plenty of tutorials on the web about playing extracted iso games which always aimed towards an External Hard Drive instead of Internal Hard Drives.

So with this Tutorial, you'll be able to use your Internal Hard Drive(Not 4GB Flash Memory Unit) of your RGH or JTAG Console to play Extracted iso games using FSD(FreeStyle Dash) which is in a better format compared to GOD format that prevents you from adding modified files which almost always requires a fully extracted game.

    Tested on:

    XBOX 360 Slim 4GB Corona
    RGH Glitch 2
    Dash: 16537
    320GB Internal Hard Drive(OEM/Third Party)
    FSD 3 rev 775
    xexmenu

    Things You'll Probably Need:

    1. Internal Hard Drive(Third Party or Original Shouldn't matter).

    2. USB Stick or External Hard Drive with at least 32GB recommended To transfer extracted games using FSD However if you're planning on transferring files using FTP Protocol, Then there's no need for these devices.

    So Lets Get Started!

    1. Make sure you've gotten Apps like Xexmenu and FSD installed which are essential programs for your RGH/JTAG consoles.

    2. Use FSD File Manager to Create a folder on the root of your Internal Hard Drive(Hdd1) and name it "Xbox 360 Games" or anything else you prefer.

    3. Using FSD File Manager, Transfer your extracted game(s) from you're USB Stick or External Hard Drive into the folder you created in step 2 for your Internal Hard Drive. Remove External Hard Drive if not needed once done.

    4. Select FSD Settings, Content Settings, Manage Game Paths and add a path directed to:
For example Hdd1: \ Xbox 360 Games \ Game Folder Title \ Extracted Files. Make sure to save your paths afterwards.

    5. Now go to Scan Settings in FSD and select it. Depending if you disabled auto scanning at startup, you will need to do a manual scan by selecting "Start Manual Scan" so it will refresh and add your newly transferred files.
(Recommended to have internet connection otherwise you'll have no cover arts for your games after the scan).

    6. If you don't see your games from the Internal Hard Drive in FSD after the scan(Most likely with GOD files), Make sure to increase the Scan Depth in "Manage Game Paths" menu on the path directory you selected.

That's IT! You should be able to play Your extracted iso games from the Internal Hard Drive using FSD without converting it to GOD format. although it's time consuming, At least it saves the space on your external hard drive which you can remove the files that had already been transferred, or keep it as a backup of your games and files.

    Bonus Tips!

    1. Only Internal Hard Drives are able to install HD Contents/Textures which you'll find in most 2-Discs games like Battlefield 3, Medal Of Honor: Warfighter, Splinter Cell: Blacklist etc. USB Stick or External Hard Drives that have configured using the XBOX 360 console will not work and same goes for 4GB XBOX 360 models as it's detected as a Flash Memory and not a Hard Drive regardless if there's ample space on it.

    2. Having problems with games like Battlefield 3 or Medal Of Honor: Warfighter being hanged and getting fatal crashes on games like these or similar games? This is most likely caused by the launch.ini file on the root of your Hard Drive which was created using Dashlaunch. There are two workarounds for this.

Either boot your console without plugging any USB Stick or External Hard Drive that has the launch.ini file in it then plug it back after the console has loaded to Original NXE menu, load xexmenu and then load FSD to play these games normally.

or just temporarily move the launch.ini file to a folder other than the root of the Hard Drive, turn off and reboot your console to Original NXE menu, load xexmenu and then load FSD to play these games normally.

    3. Having troubles with multiple discs games? just use FSD for loading those games as it has an autoswap feature built into it and it's enabled by default so name your games accordingly for extracted games like:

    Hdd1: \ Xbox 360 Games \ Game Folder Title \ Disc 1 \ Extracted Files
    Hdd1: \ Xbox 360 Games \ Game Folder Title \ Disc 2 \ Extracted Files
(Tested with Extracted Games. GOD format need not apply)

    4. FSD 3 rev 775 may be a little buggy with Dashboard 16537 which causes the database to not update properly even after removing a scan path directory, it still thinks that the directory had not been removed and it reinstates the deleted directory again after a Manual Scan. It also takes extremely long to remove a second scan path directory which ends up to be like a loop instead.

A workaround that might help remedy this is to not customize the default FSD Theme but if you did, You may notice that the "Settings" Tab folders are still on the default theme regardless if you've customized it. So it's best to stay away from customizing the default theme as it may cause FSD to be more buggy.

If the problem is still not solved with the updating of the database regardless if you've removed a single or all of your scan path directories, Then you will need to remove the scan path directory by using one of the following method:

    a. Remove a single scan path directory and do a "Clear Data" Each Time (located under General Settings, Reset Settings) and FSD will be restarted each time you clear the data and as all coverarts will be removed after you've cleared the data, It may or may not update those coverarts after a manual scan so it's recommended to repeat this process until you have removed all scan path directories and then re-add all the necessary directories and do a "Start Manual Scan".

    or

    b. Remove a single scan path directory and restart FSD(By Pressing the Guide Button on your Controller and Selecting Freestyle Home) Each Time and repeat the process until all necessary scan path directory are removed, Then "Clear Data" and afterwards, "Start Manual Scan".
(Issue was Tested With Default FSD Theme Only and may or may not happen for other users)

(Some of the instructions above may not apply to FTP Protocol users)

This is meant solely for FSD as it can scan a path manually which xexmenu cannot do.

    Tested on:

    XBOX 360 Slim 4GB Corona

RGH - (don't know if it a RGH Glitch 2 or not)
    Dash - 17150
1TB Internal HDD with about 831gb still free
    FSD 3 rev 775
    Xexmenu

I will be using a FTP for steps below. does steps below same for FTP different.

    2. Use FSD File Manager to Create a folder on the root of your Internal Hard Drive(Hdd1) and name it "Xbox 360 Games" or anything else you prefer.

( Can't make folder in my fsd file manager when i press y to make new directly) But there is already a folder for Games i put there when i first my Xbox but now it will not let me create new ones. I can try making it using FTP.

    3. Using FSD File Manager, Transfer your extracted game(s) from you're USB Stick or External Hard Drive into the folder you created in step 2 for your Internal Hard Drive. Remove External Hard Drive if not needed once done.

(which file do i transfer because there is more then 1 in the Game file I downloaded. 1 is a dvd file and 1 is a ISO file but the ISO file looks like a BAN-ME-PLEASE file since i used a BAN-ME-PLEASE to download it from (PB)

    4. Select FSD Settings, Content Settings, Manage Game Paths and add a path directed to:
For example Hdd1: \ Xbox 360 Games \ Game Folder Title \ Extracted Files. Make sure to save your paths afterwards.

(Don't know how to do this step since it the first time downloaded a ISO for my Xbox)

(Don't know how to do this step since it the first time downloaded a ISO for my Xbox)

    6. If you don't see your games from the Internal Hard Drive in FSD after the scan(Most likely with GOD files), Make sure to increase the Scan Depth in "Manage Game Paths" menu on the path directory you selected.

(Don't know how to do this step since it the first time downloaded a ISO for my Xbox)

Also if download a GOD ISO file don't it need to be configured to work on the Xbox differently then regular ISO files if so need help with that to since i don't know how to do.

    (2) Depending on which pane you are on in the FSD file manager menu(there's a left and a right file browser) if on the left, hold LB button and press Y, if on the right, hold RB button and press Y To create a new folder.

    (3) Once you have an iso file, You need to extract it by using programs that are built for extracting Xbox 360 iso files and 360mpGui will do just that, Google for it, it's free so no worries there. After the iso extraction is done, be sure to put all the various files and folders contained in the iso into a new folder if not done before extraction and name it your game title afterwards.

An Xbox 360 game iso file is roughly 7-8GB in size which is about the same size as a GOD formated game that is converted from an iso however if an iso is extracted, its size can be reduced all the way down to 1-2GB with games like naruto, dragonball etc.
so to save space, use extracted format instead(aka .xex format)

Yes GOD format must be placed differently in order to work accordingly.

Your main issue here is basically extracting the iso file So once you're done with that, let us know of your progress from steps 4-6.

Never Mind the above comment I extraced the file fine but now i have a different problem.

trying to transfer the ISO using my FlashFXP FTP and it transfers half of the file before i get this message
(Data Socket Error: Connection timed out) and it will not reconnect again unless i turn off the xbox and turn it back on again. When plug in to my pc the IP for the Xbox keeps changing and i don't know to fix the connection time out and keep the IP from changing.

    Main Settings I use

    IP - 169.254.77.22
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.0.0
    Port- 21

This is one of the reason why i don't recommend using FTP to transfer huge files and that's why you don't see much info about FTP in this thread. So I suggest you try the USB Storage method instead.

I tryed the USB instead but I can't put the ISO on the USB drive because after formatting the usb in my pc to FAT 32 then formatting it to Xbox specs on the Xbox the usb stick show it is FULL outlined in Red but nothing is on the stick since it's completely empty. I have tried many different one to format but same thing happens all the time and each usb stick is brand new and never been used before.

USB Sticks I've tried to format and don't work after

08gb - tried comes up RED showing FULL after formatting on PC and XBOX 360
16gb - tried comes up RED showing FULL after formatting on PC and XBOX 360
32gb - tried comes up RED showing FULL after formatting on PC and XBOX 360
64gb - tried comes up RED showing FULL after formatting on PC and XBOX 360
120gb - tried comes up RED showing FULL after formatting on PC and XBOX 360

What am i doing wrong when formatting the USB Stick. Please HELP.

You transfer the extracted files that you got from extracting the iso using 360mpGui, Don't transfer the iso to the usb stick cos it won't work due to usb storage limitations with Fat32 format and besides the xbox 360 doesn't read iso files but it does read .xex files in which you'll find a "default.xex" file from your extracted iso.

That is what i meant to say not put ISO on USB. I did use 360mpgui to extracted but I can put anything on the flash drive because the drive shows it is full write after formatting the USB.

Just a question Since I myself am having a Problem putting the 6 games I have download to my Flash Drive and since you seem to know what you are doing when it comes to downloading and extracting ISO's. Could you or do you know anyone on this site that offers a service where i could pay to have you or the one offering the service get me the ISO games i am looking for and put them on a Flash drive then mail it to me after you get payment. Game list Here

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution
    Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3
    Batman Arkham City - GOTYE
    Batman Arkham Origons
    Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor
    Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Doubt there's a service like that and it's against the forum rules as well.

You might be formating the usb sticks wrongly, Try using FAT32 Format application by Ridgecrop and get the Windows GUI version, Google it.

    Hi, how's everyone here doing?

Little late, I'm aware, but I just made this account right now to reply to this thread...

Thanking both of you, Met, and SupersaiyanSSJ4.

I don't know if you'll see this, but in case you do, know that I owe you both one, respectively.

This thread has been a great help in getting all the games I want on my Xbox 360, for me, and my little brother.

Here's a list of all the games we got so far:

    Skyrim
    Batman Arkham City
    Minecraft
Call of Duty Black Ops I
    Sonic The Hedgehog

    Thank you, so, very, much.
