Hello, I just purchased a xkey, and a x360usb pro, is there anything else I need, the x360pro can dump the drive key right?​

One more question, does the drive need to be powered, by a molex and ck3, or can I just use the mobo to power it, or does it not need to be powered?

 

Yes you will need to either use a ck3 lite to power or power from 360 mobo

 

I heard powering it from the mono wasn't safe?

 

It's been reported by many that powering it from the 360 is unsafe, however I don't know if that statement is entirely true because I've met a lot of ba11z-y people doing it anyways. If you have only one console, I'd play it on the safe side.

Some things to note:

Xkey reads 2 dump formats.. one for the slim and one for the phat.
Xkey will hang at loading screen and not boot... easy fix, just trim a pinch off the end of the MicroUSB that connects to the dongle.
Xkey might not read your HDD either because it's unsupported or requires external power... could fix with Y-Split USB Cable.
Xkey MenuISO has been reported that Microsoft is closing in on that setting specifically and was advised by staff to use LCD Remote instead.

Why do people say you need a probe? I done it with a homemade powerswit h & JF gave me my keys etc..
