    Hi XPG..

I'm having some problems with my Xkey :( it has been going good till a couple of days ago, when i start the Xbox now it takes a few minutes to load the dash and i have also started getting dirty disc errors and really bad lag even offline games..

I am using a USB external hard drive i think this might be the problem just thought i would ask here before splashing cash on a new one!

Would i be better getting a external with a power lead and usb?

    Thanks for reading :)

If the External USB HDD has no external power then i recommend you buy one with a external power as i had the same problem and now i have a 2TB WD USB HDD with external power and everything is sweet ;)

usb power is a definite must. if you aren't using the remote it is usually ok but then you must be using the dvd/iso menu option which doesn't let you swap for multi disc games and also is supposedly not as safe for xbl. had the same issue where i was disconnecting the drive, reconnecting, and eventually it would pop up. switched to a powered external drive and haven't had any issues since.

Yeah i have been to pc world and got the WD Element 2TB HD.

It's so much quicker to load games and detect the hard drive.
