What drive to buy

So today i just flashed my xbox and i was wondering what drive to buy of ebay there is a liteon 124 revision and and a liteon 524 revision b what is the difference

 

i think the difference is one has a lightscribe burner but they both burn xdg3 any how

 

so both are ok to buy then?

 

Just different features i.e lightscribe and that. 524 can be crossflashed anyway so makes no difference

 

bit of a noob wen it comes to this do i need to get the dvd drive flashed as well? or does it jst be ready for burning?

 

You will need to flash it yourself unless you buy one already pre-flashed

 

You used to have to have the burner flashed. I think now you can use a payload took instead.

go for the cheapest one and use payload tool . flashing ihas burners now in my opinion is beckoming outdated and old school both drives will do the same job unless lightscribe is really that important to you ??? ..guess not cheapest it is then mate I WOULD ..

You can get preflashed ones from ebay

 

i would stick with the flash the payload tool can be a bit touch and go.the flash is more stable in my opinion
