I really am thinking about, making a custom pc, for gaming and 3d rendering, I've watched videos on how to do a build, and it looked really easy, honestly way too easy, so if I could find out, what I need to have a start to finish build, that'd be sick!
My price range is adjustable, It'd be nice to stay around $500-$700
But the cheaper the better, if I could have a fast pc for around $300, I would do that.
Also on the case, I really like the BitFenix Prodigy case.

what games are you playing/ plan on playing, also any decent components on your rig atm that you will be able to swap over to save a little? also if you want to see reviews or benchmarks on suggested items check out linustechtips on youtube it can help you make your choice.

Well I have a macbook pro, so I wont be swapping any components, as far as games go I'd like to play BF3 on medium to high settings, if it could do that I'd be happy, but I'm more interested in it being able to render, but then again I might just buy a 3D printer.

definitely go with a ssd. that speeds up everything. :)

i like the bitfenix stuff too - i love the texture on the cases.

but as far as i remember the prodigy only allows mini-itx boards and they tend to sell for more than the average atx boards.

but if you're rendering and doing some video stuff you should go with an i7 or an 8 core amd.

also take advantage of the cuda cores on an nvidia graphics card. you should do fine with a gtx 660 ti or a gtx 670 but i would invest in a gtx 770 - it's a good bang for the buck. the gtx 760 isn't too much stronger than the gtx 660 ti so you would be better off looking for a deal on the 660 ti then...

pair that with an ssd and you will be golden. :D

the building process is pretty easy - you just should take precaution and put everything together at an esd safe working place.

dont know if mini-itx will be great for 3d rendering, how big are the normal file sizes of your 3d files and do they take alot of ram cause you can normally only get 8gigs of ram on mini-itx.

The files vary sizes, I would be interested in 16gb's+ ram

alright then the case you want probably wont be the one you will end up with i dont know of any mini-atx motherboards that can hold 16gigs.

thanks allot for the help guys, I might put this off for awhile, until I can get more cash aside for this, as I'd rather get everything I wanted at once, and be happier in the end! ;)
