Free Xbox One Mic

My mic was faulty out of it's day one edition box. I just went to the Xbox online service center and requested a replacement accessory, then told them I needed a headset. Filled out my info (name and address and stuff) then they completed the order telling me there was no need to send my broken headset back. Ontop of that the replacement they're sending is free. I have a day one edition console registered to my account, so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it, but if you want a free mic, seems like all you have to do is ask.

1. go to site
2. sign in and register your console's serial #
3. replace an accessory
4. Xbox One
5. headset
6. fill out info
7. complete order and get your mic within 10 days.

Especially useful if you want to build a turtle beach/astro adapter without having to worry about destroying your only headset.

EDIT: Sorry guys! Microsoft has grown a brain and is now requiring the faulty headsets to be sent back. You're welcome to try for yourself, but don't hold your breath. Hope you guys all got your headsets back when I first posted this. Well played Microsoft.

My first headset was really fault, so that was my fix ;] Got my TBs now.

 

Damn I just paid 50$ for the adapter for my Astros /:

 

That sucks, but it's likely going to be high quality at least. If you trust yourself to build one though, maybe try and return it. At the very least you could get an extra headset just to have one.

i did it 6/01 for a replacement controller and normally i get next week a new one for free. i hope they keep his word because at the moment i haven't got an email from them.

 

Controller's require the broken one to be sent back. I don't know if you've worked out a special deal or something, but if you just told them to send you a replacement, they'll want the old one back(i think they want the damaged controller before they ship the new one, I do not believe advanced replacement is available for controllers). I'm glad people are getting their headsets. I'm sure they'll stop sending out replacements soon enough so get em while they're hot. They used to have a similar thing with xbox 360 accessories that they stopped doing when people starting taking advantage of it.
